So what’s this ‘Alliance’ thing then?
Well basically it’s an attempt to bring an element of team
play to LSN. Right now its not possible to fight alongside your
team mates on the same map (maybe one day eh Codo?). So when two
Clans fight it out it takes the form of a set of individual games
the scores of which are combined to find the victorious Clan. So
the twist is that winning or losing your individual game isn’t
everything. The actual score line is often just as important. Winning
or losing by a few points may not really count for much, but a fifteen
point win could make you a hero!
What’s involved? Well that depends on
the clan you join. The Alliance league will normally see you play
a couple of Alliance league games a month. Then on top of that
there may well be all those friendlies with your new teammates,
then if you join a clan like the 8-Bits you’ll need to be
able to devote time to all the inter-clan banter that goes on.
But basically if you can fit in a couple of extra games a month
then you’ve got time for Alliance.
How do I get involved? Players leave and join
LSN all the time, so there is nearly always at least one clan
looking for new players at any time. So check the Alliance recruitment
forum or the main LSN forums for recruitment threads. Alternatively
you could start your own clan.
What about starting my own clan then? Well to
be honest it’s not that difficult. All you need is four
or five fellow LSNers and a little time to keep them organised.
Once you’ve got that just let one of the Alliance coordinators
know and we’ll make sure you’re involved in the next
Alliance season.
When can I start? Well if you join an existing
clan then you can start playing straight away. If you form a new
clan then you will have to wait for the start of a new Alliance
season. But as we try and keep seasons reasonably short you shouldn’t
have to wait too long. In the mean time there are other Alliance
competitions. Alliance No Boundaries runs all the time. Rising
Star: Alliance is a knock out comp which runs when we have a number
of new clans and there may well be another new Alliance competition
coming soon.
